Heartwarming Small-Town Romances and Thrilling Mysteries

Where 2025 went, I don’t know. I certainly flew by fast and I’m left wondering is 2026 going to be that way?

Hubby and I are late in getting to our winter home this year due to meetings, sickness, and doctor appointments. They are mostly over with now so we’re in the midst of finalizing what we’re taking south with us. I just hope illness isn’t one of the things.

Since we were here so late, I participated in a Christmas craft fair and did fairly well in it. Two long days in a hard metal chair didn’t do my sciatica much good, but I survived. I was set to get one last injection for that pain, but I got sick and even though I offered to wear a mask and do anything else they required, the doctor said no can do, I might get another infection. Rats! I was looking forward to that last shot and hoped it would alleviate the rest of the pain I feel.

We visited the downtown books store that carries my books, the Monarch Books and Boutique, and dropped off more books. I took in The Five Grannies Go to the Ball which they had never seen. The lady was very excited to get them and took five. I left six other of my books as well. They are very nice people so if you’re in the market for books, visit them at 6th and Main in Rapid City.

On my list of things to do is to finish getting presents wrapped and sent for Christmas, pack a few books to take with me just in case someone wants one, pack clothes for both cold and warm weather, and all the accruements that go with living somewhere else. I’m taking far fewer clothes this year. I always end up shopping there and coming home with more than I took. This way, I’ll fill in what I don’t have and be a little less overcrowded when packing to come home.

During all this, I’m finalizing my editor’s comments on my next book. She gave me tremendous advice on how to improve it. She’ll go through it one more time which means I will too. Then a final go-through and proofread will get it mostly done. My cover editor is waiting on me, but has the covers finalized. I’m so excited about all this and hope to release my new book, Walkers on Water, by early next year. Then I’ll pick up the next book in the series, Walkers on Thin Ice, and finish it up. I wrote it but it’s only the rough first draft. Exciting times in my writer world.
