I’ve enjoyed writing a new blog each week, trying to keep people entertained and thinking. I’ve always been a wallflower when in a crowd and held my tongue in lots of conversations. This platform has allowed me to say what I’m thinking and express my feelings about things. It’s been a freeing endeavor for me. I hope you’ve found some of it interesting.
That said, I’m taking a short break. I’m about to embark on a long trip across the big water to my homeland. About 300 years ago, many of my ancestors immigrated from England, Scotland, and Ireland. Hubby and I are headed there with a tour group for our very first overseas trip. We’ll be gone most of the month of May. The only computer we are taking is my Kindle Fire so I’ll be limited on what I can do, especially where this blog is concerned. So I will be pausing, but be thinking of you and taking photos to share with you when I return.
So take care of each other and if you think of it, say a little prayer that we have a safe journey. Thanks for all that you do for me. Talk to you later!
I’m glad Keith got to visit with you recently. I will order your book from Amazon and look forward to reading it. You mentioned that you liked NYC in one of the blurbs I read. I went to NYC the first time in 1948 when I was a 17-year-old trombone player in the Cowboy band from Hardin-Simmons U. This was actually before I started school there. We got to ee the regular sights, and I got to see the Cardinals and Dodgers play at Ebbetts Field–Lots of famous ball players including Stan Musial, Jackie Robinson and many others. When I came back from my three years in France and Spain (USAF) in ’58, I had to wait 10 days in NYC for my car to arrive. Stayed in the Dixie Hotel, Times Sq area for $10/night. Saw 7 Broadway shows and a Yankee double header, etc. Son Keith and I went to Europe for 29 days in 2002. Flew into Frankfurt, rented a car and drove 4200 miles in Germany, France, Switzerland, Lich., Austria, and Czech Republic. Had no reservations or itenerery. Had a ball!

Uncle John: I really enjoyed visiting with Keith. I’m so glad I was around when he came through. Craig and I hope to get to the Swiss Alps next year. We go with a group of retired Forest Service employees. We had a really great time together in Ireland with them. Always looking to make new friends. Give my regards to Ken and LaDean and Keith!
