Can you believe that it’s 2017? Ready or not, it’s here. Beginning a new year, we have hopes and expectations for the year. We hope it will be a good one for us. For me, the past year was a great one. I had a lot of successes and adventures. My family is still with me and healthy. I don’t take that for granted. I thank God for those blessings.
Do you make new year’s resolutions? I say I don’t, but truthfully, I try to make a few attempts to live and eat better each January just like I do every year. Maybe we need to have April resolutions and July resolutions and on like that. Having resolution days throughout the year might increase our chances of success. Being a better person shouldn’t wait until January. Do it when you know it needs done.
As we face this new year at its beginning, let’s say a prayer that 2017’s last day finds us a better person in better health. That it finds us all safe and sound in our homes. That it finds that we made a difference in someone’s life and lifted another’s sagging spirits. I hope we can look back on 2017 and say, “This has been a really good year.” Be kind in 2017, respect others, and value every life. Let’s make this country a nicer, more civil place to live.
