It’s a very busy time of year. Holiday activities and gatherings ramp up. Almost every night, a program or event is scheduled to put everyone in the holiday spirit. Gifts need to be purchased and wrapped. Cards needs to be written and sent. Travel plans need to be finalized. Checkbook and credit card balances need to be tracked. It all hits in about six weeks every year. It’s exhausting!
Somewhere in all the excitement, take time to relax. Get a cup of hot chocolate, a warm blanket, and put on a Christmas movie. Something that makes you laugh. Laughter is one of the good things we do for ourselves. It’s like a vitamin our body needs, but we don’t get enough of.
Instead of rushing to see how much you can buy for those you love, sit and think about how much you’ve done with them. Remember how special those times were and how to make special times without a lot of stuff. The stuff will break or get too small for them, but the hugs and laughter will never fade. Take lots of photos so that when memories dim, they’ll be brightened again on some dreary future day.
Take time to remember how blessed you are and give thanks for it.
