Heartwarming Small-Town Romances and Thrilling Mysteries

This week, I stretched my poetry skills. I hope it will give you a chuckle.

I’m tired of snow, in the air and on the ground.
I can’t get away from it, it’s all around.
It comes and comes, it won’t ever stop,
Inches upon inches upon inches on top.
It stays and stays and won’t leave us alone,
When the clouds come in, I let out a groan.
The scraping of the shovel against the concrete,
That grating is so hard on my ears and my teeth.
Being old and fragile, I’m always wary
When I’m walking on ice, it’s always scary.

Buildings are falling under all of the weight
From snow and ice building up ‘til they break.
So now I sit and wait in my house until spring
When the temps will rise to melt everything,
And then a new problem for us will begin
With water everywhere, even up to our chin.
I’ll put my snow shovel away for the winter
And get my sandbags out so the water won’t enter.
I hope and wish someday spring will come
Until then, I guess I’ll get some writing done
